This week, we’re featuring Jada Rice as known as Alluring Kinks to share her hair secrets. In this Flor Bella hair feature, she’ll be sharing how she maintains her beautiful mane with low maintenance as well as her celebrity hair crush. Jada’s got a few things in store for this year, so continue reading to learn what she has to offer.
Give us your name and where you’re from.
My name is Jada Rice and I’m from Leland, MS.
When did you go natural? What prompted you to go natural?
I went natural on December 30, 2010. I transitioned for seven months before I big chopped. I was tired of my hair being plastered to my scalp after a relaxer; I always had chemical burns. I wanted my hair bone straight so badly that I would have tears running down my face from the burning of the relaxer.
What is your favorite thing about being natural?
I would have to say it’s the attention that I attract. (Don’t judge me, lol.)
What is your night time routine?
I pay attention to my hair. If it feels dry, I’ll moisturize, and twist it or braid it up. If it doesn’t, I’ll just dry twist or braid it.
Who are your favorite bloggers/vloggers?
I watch so many different women; I love them all.
What is your regimen?
I try to shampoo my hair every two weeks, but I’ve gone a month before. (Lazy natural here!) I use whatever I have handy and follow up with various products using the LOC Method.
What is your favorite thing about being natural?
My favorite thing about being natural is not worrying with sitting in a salon all day getting my scalp fried!
Who’s your celebrity hair crush?
Chrisette Michelle!
Who is your every day hair crush?
Aevin Dugas. She’s a celebrity to me, though.
Where can you be found on social media?
On Instagram, I’m @AlluringKinks.
Any big plans for 2015?
Maybe a haircut and YouTube channel.
