It wasn’t too long ago that we shared one of her photos on our fan page! Now, Romance C is gracing our blog in this week’s hair feature. We gushed over her curls in this interview, as well as her simple, yet imperative advice for newbies in the natural hair game. Her regimen is easy to follow, but her love for being a natural is infectious. Take a moment to read what she had to say about being happy with herself and her hair, no matter what. Name and where you’re from?
Romance C from Cleveland, OH.
When did you go natural?
I went natural in 2011. I’ve been natural going on 3 years.
Did you transition or did you big chop?
I big chopped in November 2011. I learned to embrace my hair and I wouldn’t change a thing.
What prompted you to go natural?
I went natural because I wanted healthy hair. Plus, I’m a sucka for a good hair color!
What is your favorite thing about being natural?
I love being versatile. I love trying new styles from rod sets and twist outs. It’s all about having fun.
What is your least favorite thing about being natural?
I don’t have a least favorite thing. I love being natural!
Did you receive any criticism about going natural?
It’s been a mix for me. Others have embraced it and some still are hesitant about me being natural. All are supportive and still love me the same.
What is your night time routine?
I normally pineapple at night with an ouchless band and bonnet.
What advice would you give to the newly natural?
“Learn to love yourself, ’cause if you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else?” – RuPaul
Who are your favorite bloggers/vloggers?
There are a ton of websites, YouTubers and blogs that I admire. I can’t pick [one], lol. I get a lot of helpful information from lots of places. Each site or YouTuber brings something different.
What is your regimen?
I love using the LCO Method, which is leave-in, cream and oil.
What are your favorite products?
Right now, I’m enjoying Bee Mine and TGIN, but I change a lot!
What’s your go to hairstyle?
A rod set is my go to style! It lasts me up to two weeks!
Who’s your celebrity crush?
My celebrity crush is Kelis!
Who’s your regular hair crush?
My regular hair crush is Nae2Curly and Curls and Culture.

Any big plans for 2015?
I’m just looking forward to meeting new people and continuing my hair journey.
